Promotional Material

I've had a really busy week, but it's over now. I was asked by the guys who are creating the Subpar Heroes game to create promotional pictures for four of the main heroes. Each one displaying one of their powers. I had to hve them all by Wednesday. Luckily my nephew Nick was in town and he was able to help with the colouring. He's quite a good artist himself.

First up is Junebug. I love drawing Junebug, she was the first character I designed for the game and I love her costume. She's using her pet insects to swarm some bad guy.

Next is Iron Oxide giving some one a beat down. Colours by Nick O'Gorman.

Hype is clotheslining a baddie as he whips past him.

The last of the heroes is another favourite of mine, Le Mime! He's trapped a baddie in his force cube. Colours by Nick O'Gorman.

This last picture is of a villain that the heroes will eventually fight. The creators told me they wanted an Asian lich that has a ghostly appearance. His name is Mausoleum.

Subpar Heroes

Things are moving on the Subpar Heroes game (http://www.subparheroes.com). As the most active artists I've been promoted to lead artist. I'm going to try and get the other artists organized. If this was a paying gig I would quit my day job, this is an exciting position actually. Unfortunately, it isn't. It is an exciting opportunity though. I'm in charge of drawing the character concepts for the heroes of the game and to draw the web comic. It's a lot of work, especially since I'm doing everything, art, inking, colouring and lettering. I'm trying to find a colourist to help out, it would mke things easier on me.

I't's not completely true that there is no money. Technically at the end when its complete and being sold it might actually make money and that money will be distributed amongst the people involved. I've read some literature on the subject and it is unlikely we'll make any money. Of course the real benefit for me is the experience, especially since I'm lead artist. I just need to find out what being a lead artist really means...

A Beginning

Well this is the first post in my brand new blog. Considering I've never blogged before this should be interesting. I have no idea what to write here, so I'll simply introduce myself.

My name is Kieron O'Gorman and I live here in Ottawa. I am in the process of trying to become a comic artist. It's a late start for me, since I am 36 now, but I know I can do it...Actually I am doing it. I'm working on a webcomic currently for an upcoming video game. You can see it here:

Check out the Webcomic section.

The one thing I'm finding is that it takes a long time to draw, ink, colour, and letter a webcomic when you're working full time. I really wish I could find a decent colourist. Oh well.

I also designed the heroes for the game. Most of the character art on the site is mine.

I am also in contact with a couple of writers for some comic collaborations.

I guess that's all for now,
